Spring Cleaning for your Vehicle

Spring is finally here! At Bowest Motors, Calgary’s preferred auto maintenance shop, we want to ensure your vehicle is at its prime for this great season. Spring cleaning is the perfect time to get your car into peak shape, especially with all the dust being kicked up with the melting of snow.

Not only does cleaning your car improve its appearance, but it also helps to maintain its value and prolong its lifespan. Here are five ways to clean your car for spring cleaning:

  1. Come in for an Inspection: Spring is a great time to get a check-up on your vehicle! Winter roads can be hard on your vehicle, simply through regular wear and tear. Since regular inspections ensure your vehicle is in top shape, you’ll be safer behind the wheel.

  2. Wash and Wax: Start by giving your car a thorough wash to remove any dirt, salt, and grime that may have accumulated over the winter months. Use a high-quality car wash soap and a microfiber mitt to gently scrub the surface of the car. Once you've washed the car, apply a coat of wax to protect the paint and give it a beautiful shine. The wax will also help to repel water and prevent dirt from sticking to the surface.

  3. Clean the Interior: The interior of your car can also benefit from a good spring cleaning. Start by removing any trash or clutter that may have accumulated over the winter. Next, vacuum the floors and seats to remove any dirt or debris. You can also use an upholstery cleaner to remove any stains or spills on the seats or carpet. Finally, wipe down the dashboard, console, and doors with a mild cleaning solution to remove any dust or grime.

  4. Clean the Windows: Clean and clear windows not only make it easier to see while driving but also improve the overall appearance of the car. Use a glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth to clean the windows both inside and outside. Be sure to pay extra attention to the edges of the windows where dirt and grime can accumulate.

  5. Swap your Tires: It’s time to swap out those winter tires for summer ones! This will keep you safer on the road and safeguard your tires for future use.

These are just a few ways you can prepare your car for spring. You might consider booking some of our routine services to ensure your vehicle is up to date as well, such as an oil change and a tire rotation. If you would like to make an appointment for any of the above listed services, you can do so through our online booking system.
